Dr. Medasani Selected for Engineering Symposium

LOS ANGELES, June 25, 2007— Dr. Swarup Medasani, a senior research staff member at HRL Laboratories, LLC, has been selected to participate in the National Academy of EngineeringÕs (NAE) 13th  annual Frontiers of Engineering symposium. Eighty-three young engineers across the country have been selected from industry, academia, and government to learn about cutting-edge developments in fields other than their own in the September 24 to 26 symposium at Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington.

Dr. Swarup MedasaniTopics to be featured in the 200 program include trustworthy computer systems, safe water technologies, modeling and simulating human behavior, biotechnology for fuels and chemicals, and the control of protein conformations. Sponsors this year are the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the U.S. Department of Defense (DDR&E-Research), the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the National Science Foundation, Microsoft Corp., Cummins Inc., and numerous individual donors.
