HRL Issued Patents for Ceramic Microstructure and Epitaxy Growth

MALIBU, Calif. March 30, 2010—HRL was issued two patents today from the United States Patent Office: "Ceramic Microtruss," (patent no. 7,687,132) and "Epitaxy with Compliant Layers of Group-V Species" (patent no. 7,687,798).

The Ceramic Microtruss patent involves an ordered ceramic microstructure and the method for creating it. Epitaxy with Layers of Group-V Species deals with a method for epitaxial growth in semiconductor development.

To date, HRL has received 522 patents since the company's inception in 1997, with 22 patents issued so far in 2010.
