HRL's research programs span a broad range of technologies. We have four technical laboratories: Applied Electromagnetics, Information Systems & Sciences, Sensors & Materials, and Microelectronics. HRL is interested in students with a high level of academic achievement for internship opportunities.

HRL's internship program is designed to provide students with valuable real-world experience. By working side by side with our researchers, interns gain professional work experience and knowledge of HRL, its organization and culture.

Internships are primarily paid technical positions for summer assignments. Undergraduates and graduates may be considered for internship positions. Although, the largest group of interns are graduate level students with relevant university work or research experience in Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Mathematics, or Physics, HRL continuously seeks talented students. Interns may be eligible for a return to HRL in subsequent summers based upon satisfactory job performance and continuing business need.
